Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale road frame measuring.

Im about to buy a new CAAD 9 frame and i dont really know what size I need. Its either a 56 or 58. Im curious if anyone could measure let me know how cannondale measures the TT, is it center to center or smaller than that, maybe longer?

For reference, I'm 5'10'', wear 32 inseam pants and I ride a 56 Cannondale with a 105 mm stem.

I also have a 55 Bianchi with a 110mm stem, and a 56 Specialized (which has a 56.5 virtual top tube) with a 100mm stem, and it's a touch big for me, IMO

i'm 6'2" with a 34 inch inseam and ride a 56 with a 120 mm stem. size is more abot you than the frame. you need to fit the frame, not the other way around. ride both and have the lbs guys help you

I was worried about how the TT is measured, the website isnt very clear.

I actuatly just drove the hour and a half to sit on one, a great decision. a 56 w/ 110mm worth of stem is perfect for me. And actuatly getting out a measuring tape, the bike was 57cm c-c. not 56 like like the website says.

thanks guys.

Wow- I am 5'9" with a 33.1 inch inseam and I just ordered a 56cm C'dale with a shorter 90 or 100 mm stem. That means you are 5" taller and yet your legs are only 1" longer than mine! Goes to show you that one size does not fit all, even if the "all" in this case are the same height!
