A fellow who did the Boston Brevets fixed is quite the photo nut. He posted this to an email list last week:

They also make a Ultraclamp. Check it out.

By the way, great pics. I just started to ride at night also and love it. I just got a JetLites HID and it lights up the world.

This has been a very enjoyable thread. Thanks so much ViperZ! Like RoadToad, I'm totally steeling your pics for my desktop.
The other shots you took of the hiking and such, you didn't take those on your Canon SD400 did you? I've got an SD630 and was amazed at your night shots and hope I can pull some close results when I try it.

Here's some real data, not just "assumed" BS.
The point was, that LEDs are lighter, cheaper, last longer, and provide enough light for most applications. I use two knogs, I've seen people use four, with two on the forks.
I would not use a HID on public roads, only trails, because they are bright enough to really blind oncoming traffic at night, especially on rural roads where there is no street lighting and driver's eyes are tuned to the lower light. There is already legislation in Ontario coming to parliament to ban these lights for public roads. I don't even like them on trails, because it is blinding to other riders, a real selfish attitude.
But then again, the chance of seeing another human in Sask in a one hour ride is pretty low.

No, I don't have a sense of humor when it comes to your comments directed at me. You have been abrasive and very condescending in all your previous posts towards me around the forums, how is this any different? As such, what I find humorous is how often you are proved wrong by others on the forums. If I'm wrong about your intentions, I'll be the bigger man and say I'm sorry, however I don't think I am.

I have a few cameras, however 2 of them are with the SD400. It takes pictures as good as any of my other cameras. In the end it's not the camera, rather the person behind it.

ViperZ-
LoL ! Kudos on your day-time pictures......some are quite interesting,
although I feel that unless you have a 3.5 Megapixel camera, of good quality
(which I do not .....I only got my camera for FREE as a gift) I feel there's this
BLURRY aspect to digital photos that I hate, unlike regular camera's that need
photo development, and can later be scanned. Perhaps Photoshop can fix that,
quite a bit .....each photo you presented, seems to have that blur...which Ifind
annoying. The color balance seems top notch, as is the case with all digital cameras
that I've seen.

What kind of company hires 12 year olds? You moron, you're looking at the photos on a monitor in case you forgot.
Sorry for the reply, but someones mommy must not have tucked someone in last night.

Uh, are you suggesting that the reason Viperz's photos are blurry, underexposed,
and hard on the eyes is because my $500 monitor, is not good enough?
What kinds of monitor would you suggest ?

Ed Holland-
Anyone with photoshop, can open up your picture, and see it's a bitmap monochrome
designed to be black, from the get-go. It's not an underexposed picture. And I didn't
miss the humor, just .... the truth needed clarification.

so why should we believe you're able to set up the monitor correctly?

Your comment reminds me that a lot of forum discussion is by people who can't write,
chatting with people who can't talk, for people who can't read - or take pictures
for that matter, but hate to be reminded of it.
