I just got a new bike, and I was wondering how compatibile, a sram force compact crank would be along w/ the dura ace drive train? Anyone have any ideas?

well, honestly, i do like the look of the SRAM, and I really want a compact crank.
what is my best option with a dura ace equipt bike?? FSA?
I could go and get another cassette, and I'm still considering that. we'll see.

It should work fine. You can use a Shimano crank with the SRAM group.

Er, why don't you get the Shimano crank to go with the Shimano group?

yes it should be compatible. stick with the DA crank and change the cassette. itd be cheaper and more efficient if you later see the high gearing to be too slow.

I love my Shimano R700 compact crank. It supposed to shift better than other compacts using a regular front derailler.

I have a Bontrager = TruVativ = Sram crank on my Trek. The first one had a wobble and I had some missed shifts. The new one has been awesome. Shifts perfect, might be because forum member BikeWise1 set it up, but regardless I'm now very pleased. The rest of the drive train is Dura-Ace.
