My "carbon spine" 51cm 2005 Lemond Maillot J. Purchased it last fall. Rides smooth and still has good road input. Hasn't been raced yet... but spring is here and I'm looking forward to opening things up.

I had a 2001 Buenos Aries, and it never worked for me. I bought it because it was the most inexpensive Ultegra bike I could find at the time, but the low price showed in the details. The frame was fine, but the spindly, flexy carbon fork was fashizzle. Granted I'm a good sized guy at 6' and 185, but still...I expected better. Also problematic were the Bontrager Select wheels, flexy and heavy.
Glad it's gone.

I voted no, not for the paint, but for the geometry. I haven't ridden the new ones, though. The paint doesn't bother me.
Since they're just Treks, I really wouldn't bother with them any more than any other brand. Still the long top tubes, which isn't my cup of tea. I'm not built that way.

My weight is in the fork (660 grams) and frame (~1800 grams.) The Zipps were built up using 28 spokes and brass nipples for durability and weighs 1560 grams, or about a pound more than off-the-shelf 303 tubulars with 20/24 spk. Not that I am counting grams or anything.
