Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I give this guy credit. Save all the posts about how the guy should have asked first. The seller was just plain dishonest.

report the seller... either the seller is dishonest or an idiot... the other sellers i hate are those that use auction titles like:

1000 Trek not Serotta or Cervalo or Seven

*love* eBay! pure entertainment!

Uh, that guy is psychotic.

That pic doesn't do the best job of illustrating the CF-wrapped alloy, either. One would expect to see, well, alloy in there.

We should all bid on it. Then he would have to either send us the bars or take a hit himself for backing out of an auction.

Fun fun.

Botto with his usual outstanding insight.....

Is briefer, even a word? Maybe if you were talking about somebody giving a presentation.

Yes, Like the Minneapolis Craigslist listing today of the Trek Carbon bike frame that was on the sellers car roof rack when he drove into his garage. I think his quote was, "It looks OK''.

I can't help but say that I have very little sympathy for folks who don't know anything about a product, then proceed to buy it without asking any questions:

I have never in my life seen someone take on cost to point out a disgruntle buy on E-Bay. Just report the seller and learn from your mistake.

The buyers neg feedback tells the tale of this story. It may have been a while ago but he bid on a few things and then tried to negotiate the terms of the auction later. This guy seems to suffer from buyer's remorse quite frequently.

I think this was one of the points the lister was trying to make. Why should the buyer do the legwork for a lazy seller? If the original seller was some d*** a** who was selling it for a buddie it would be a different story. You see steel frame bikes listed as carbon or multi material all the time and it usually is just stupidity.

Oh no doubt the OP is a little left of center....but I also get a kick out of "super-Fred" Botto and his posts as well.

You either don't read much, or English isn't your first language.

Definition of: Briefer

An example of the word being used: A Briefer History of Time

Next time, put some effort, and a little research, into it sparky.

I guess you haven't heard of the case where some guy drove 50 miles to assault some guy after an ebay transaction went bad.

Did anyone actually take the time to read the so called "cheated buyer's" feedback? If you did, you will see a very disturbed person. He has a history of flaming people he bought from.

Nope, they still fit fine...no need for a banana (not banna) peel btw my crotch and my BVD's.

But you're right, I could've done the hardwork (answers.com, please!!!) that you did...thanks for the lesson...and linking to Stephen Hawking, quite impressive.

Sparky, yikes!!!....

I don't watch the news too often. Too damn depressing! But if the seller ripped the buyer off then I say they had the assault coming.

It's called spell check. The guy should really look into it.

You keep saying that. I don't know what your vendetta against eBay is, nor do I care. eBay is really not that hard as long as you are not a moron.

1. How long has the seller been registered?
2. What is the sellers rating?
3. What is the sellers feedback score.
4. Does the item have enough pics and description to satisfy you as to its condition?
5. Does the price seem TOO good to be true?

As opposed to Craigslist.

4 sale: 1 hndel bar - carbon. GR8 for race bike. Never wrckd.

Yeah, Craigslist is Da' BOMB!

I guess you missed when I drove from San Jose to Los Angeles to recover either my $400, or get the item I was sold...and ended up having to get the police involved.

Turns out it was a scam operation....just a very poorly executed one....they had nothing for the 100+ auctions they were running. I did get my money back after a while.....however the car I had was so poor on gas that it costed me more to drive there an back then what I got out of it. I did it on principal....I will get back my money if a person isn't willing to hold their end of the bargain.
