Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

$200 Gift

I have just been informed that someone is going to be spending $200 on me for Christmas. I need suggestions!!!!!!

I currently own a stock '06 LeMond Reno except a Fizik Arione saddle. I believe I am getting a Polar F11 HRM already.

New Wheels. Xero XR-1's or Reynolds Atla Comps would be in your budget. Those and some new tires (Rubino Pros from ProBikeKit) should give you a nice upgrade for $200-$250.

I'd go with ebay, buy a 'company' that has a high feedback. XR-1's here:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Xero-Lite-XR-1-R...QQcmdZViewItem

Those Rolfs are sweet though.

I will keep that in mind, I am thinking that I am going to grab those Rolf Sestriere's. I am a little nervous though, that is a lot of money to spend on some wheels that are no longer made. I also have no clue how they were treated, this guy seems legit though. . . .

Why take a chance? Here is another option for new wheels in the same price range. https://www.blueskycycling.com/produc...d-Wheelset.htm

OK, I just did some math and if I wait awhile I think I can afford some wheels in the $450 range. What is out there?

Also, what is the best wheel in the $250 range?? I am 6 foot and weigh between 175-180, but I am looking to drop some weight before the season start (can anyone say ROLLERS)

At $450 talk with Mike Garcia or another similar builder about something made just for you and your riding style of riding.
