Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Calender of events?

I am looking for a good online source for centuries and other cycling rides and events, anyone know of any?

There are a lot of sources. I too usually plan my year around Christmas, but you will find that many rides don't list their new dates and info until around Feb. to March. So don't fret if you have a hard time finding stuff now.

Try Active.com. Good for all regions. I found that Illinois, Ohio and Indiana have pretty good State bicycle organizations that list all state and surrounding rides. In the midwest there's "Mike's" list. I think he has expanded out to other areas as well....

Just start looking....it's different for everyone in different regions.

Oh...and try the regional forum for your area.
