Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What is it with all of these Ultegra vs Dura Ace threads?

I am seeing a whole lot of overkill here....and the resurrection of 2-3 year old threads. I have never been one to say this before, but in these cases, I believe the search feature would have been quite useful.

and FWIW...I like my 105/Ultegra mix just fine

Cheers,

Brian

Three of the four that I saw were bumps by the same person (or linen item).

I believe someone started a new post asking about the difference between 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace so another poster bumped about 7 old topics covering the same ground. Frankly it seemed like overkill

My bike has Ultegra. Would Dura Ace be better? Be sure to cite four year-old threads in your answer.

I counted 13 of these bumped threads. Seems much more disruptive than a singe Dura Ace v. Ultegra thread. Not a proportionate response.

Heh, heh. Not meant to be proportional. Just funny. A bit of mischievous holiday cheer during a lull on BF. It was also fascinating to see how many DA vs. Ultegra threads had been created over the years. But in life, many conversations are repeated on a daily basis (war in Iraq, for example -- no new ideas there pro/con, but people still argue it on a daily basis).

I think Towlie made his point. Now then. I'm shipping for a new bike. Anyone have an opinion on SRAM Force vs Rival?

USPS, or maybe FedEx. I'm not a fan of UPS.
