Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Freehub bodies: Titanium vs. Steel

Seems to me that steel freehub bodies are where it's at for durability, but they suffer a bit for weight. Thus the aluminum and Ti freehubs.

But how are Ti freehubs different than Al? Are they simply used for marketing reasons?

I understand that the Ti freehubs do not suffer from the same gouging that the Al freehubs do. There also is a weight savings from steel, but of course the Ti are the most expensive.
