Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New I.F. Winter Road Bike / Trail Bike (Pictures)

Just finalized my winter / trail bike tonight. Once the roads on the East Coast are full of salt and dirt, this will be a hell of a lot safer. It has an Ultegra 10speed group, Ritchy CycloCross crank, Salsa CycloCross wheels, Toupe Saddle, Avid Shorty brakes, and some other junk. Have a happy new year!

Nice color scheme. I've always wanted an IF ever since I test rode one back in 2000.

No offense though, it is a fricken sick looking bike. Ever since I got to tour the factory I have alot more appreciation for IF's.

It's very nice. Remarkable even. Safer in winter? Not with those tires.

I am way jealous, this is what I have been trying to build up for a while. I am settling for a cheap Planet X Kaffenback until I can afford an IF frame to take its place Very sweet looking bike. Going to run fenders on it I assume?

Drool...

I love my IF Club Racer. Funny thing about IF though, I swear they're artists with welding, paint etc, but oh man I really don't like their downtube logos. It's so bad I told them not to put it on my bike.

Taking a closer look at the downtube logo, it looks a little like a movie title script from a late '60's comedy. Regardless of what the logo looks like, it is a beautiful bike.

It's a whole helluva lot better than Serotta's, theirs' looks like a generic bike brands' sticker.

i like the fact the logo is "unique" and not just simple like trek or specialized, lemond, etc...

independent is a unique company. only a dozen or so employees that each have a stake in the company.

Kinda reminds me of this

It seems so out of character compared to the "crest" logo on the seat tube...

I'm still jealous though, nice ride!

good call! its funny how everyone finds a way to relate logo's to something. i think there was a thread awhile back about this actually. it seems as though a logo is either too simple (specialized, trek, etc...) or too whacked like IF.

cheers

Even the coloring is reminiscent of Fred's outfit.
