shaving...? awkward question.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When you hit Cat 3 you have to grow the hair back on the legs. No one will take you seriously. Sort of like "under the radar".

lol, I had some hair for a few of my Cat 3 races when I was getting burned out and didn't re-shave for the spring. It was the talk of the pack

on a serious note-

one thing no one's mentioned is a hair trimmer...

i shave from the leg cuff down.... and everything else just trim with an electric hair trimmer.

its a hell of a lot quicker and less exacting than getting in and around things with a blade. furthermore- by leaving a little hair- no ingrown hairs or infections.

think about it- bike shorts are a pretty inhospitable place. and all that bragging about your cut legs and the ladies goes right down the crapper when your ass/thighs are covered with white headed red dots.

do you guys who shave The Octagon, James Westfall, and Dr. Kenneth Noisewater get chafing? I've never done it, but I imagine a century with the second day stubble could probably rub the skin off.

Either way, ladies, if you play your cards right, you just might get to meet the whole gang.

I LOVE that movie...

I look at it this way ... if I crash, will it hit the road? Shave it. I'm not talking quarter sized strawberries here, more like "OMG ... that's gonna leave a scar!"

From there it's all a matter of aethetics.

That happened to me! except my hair got ripped out and it sucked. One of original reasons I considered this shaving business in the first place.

Thighs have been giving me a little grief. I found that some nice simple talc powder after shaving reduced the number of red dots by quite a bit. I cant believe I got sucked into this, but I must admit that I think my legs look way better without hair.

he he....exactly.

clip it all, don't be high maintenance about it. Just get out the clippers. Shave your head too.

manly men don't have hairstyles any more. think of the money you save.
