Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

To be honest, I hate this "us against them" attitude. I think that if we all (drivers and bikers alike) became more sympathetic of the others, we wouldn't have to brand lamp posts like immature 15 year olds.

It's things like this that make many drivers hate cyclists.

Cyclists are never partially to blame for this? How many times have you seen cyclists breaking laws out there?

Either way, graffitti is stupid and solves nothing. What if someone spray painted "Hummers own the street" there? It would be equally stupid.

Besides, it looks like construction owns that street to me.

nope. just guessing, but it looks like it broadway where it intersects with park row (just below city hall park, by J&R) or maybe broadway up by Times Square, where it intersects with 7th.

This would be better posted in the SS/FG forum, as that bike has no derailleur and is painted rattlecan black.

I'm a cyclist and drive a car, and I don't hate myself and I'm pretty sypathetic toward myself.

How about graffiti that reads:

"WE SHARE THE STREET"

I know it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Luckily we don't get too many of those around here.

Still, don't be a hater....

As a dad, its a fairly standard response for me. As a husband, its an all-too-damn common one.
