Cold Beer after riding on the trainer?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cold Beer after riding on the trainer?

Anyone else really look forward to the taste of a cold beer after riding on the trainer? Obviously this is a night time scenario

BTW, the Sam Adams "winter lager" is very tasty. My next beer will be a SmuttyNose IPA (also a tasty beverage)

Have a great night!

Never tried it after riding the trainer (I don't usually even START until 10:30/11:00pm), but I can say with absolute certainty that a cold Guiness with a buddy after a 40+ miler yesterday NEVER tasted better!

Bring on them empty calories that turn into fat and make it harder for me to climb hills! Yee-haw!

Hey onkey -- if you're on the east coast and craving a post ride beer, may I suggest Harpoon IPA? Or how about a Magic Hat?

I'm going to be in Boston for Harpoon's B2B (Brewery to Brewery) ride in June. https://www.harpoonbrewery.com/b2b

I look forward to Gatorade usually....

But if it's going to be an alcoholic beverage, it'll be red wine. Beer sucks.

Somehow a glass of wine after a workout just doenst seem right....

It's like being at a baseball game or a hockey game and drinking a glass of wine.....

However, enjoying a glass of wine with dinner seems perfectly normal

I couldn't agree more. The stuff is all hype, no substance. If you're limited to the selection at your local food lion, you're 100x better off going with some Sam Adams than the skunkwater that is Stella.

Beer would ruin the flavor of my Recoverite.

Anyway, if it was Bellhaven or Oberon, I could deal with it.

youre correct with the first statement, but far too kind on sam adams with the 2nd.
ill swap the sam adams for a pack of mgd, a 40oz, and a frozen burrito.

Acute doses of alcholhol can raise circulating testosterone levels for as much as 48 hours.

so....drink beer, get stronger!

As if we needed more excuse to crack a few open after a ride

Smuttynose IPA is excellent - I tried a few when on the east coast last month. Much better than any Sam Adams I've ever had.

My favorite IPA is Stone.

It funny cause during the last quarter of many rides I often strongly desire a nice cold beer. But then when I'm finally home, its often the last beverage I want.
