Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, the magazine is gay...as I found out after suscribing. However, the Style Guy articles are worthwhile because it's good to know shaving one's scrotum does not make one a freak.

Herein lies the basic premise of this entire thread: Jealousy.

I still say that man is no cyclist.

I get Bicycling Magazine for free as part of Performance membership. Usually, "free" is actaully overpriced for this mag. Only occasionally do I read more than a couple paragraphs. I spend less time on an issue of Bicycling than I do on the daily paper.

Yeah, rock hard abs -- all cyclists have 'em. Especially when you need to process up to 10,000 calories a day.

Good greif, the guy that works for me was just making a joke about how the mag usually has high priced bikes on the cover and it shows up this month with some "buff" looking guy on the front. Humor is an essential part of getting thru the day. I have a collection of cycling related cartoons posted above my desk.
Have fun, life is too short.

I just read my free copy of this months Bicycling. They reviewed the worst gear and have useless articles like "Biketown". I'll stick to Cycle Sport and Pro Cycling.

I agree. It's like they have nothing else to focus on. We get it already.

Bicycling Magazine seems like its for people who just started cycling and don't have access to the internet.

First, Bicycling is a good mag for newbies. If it gets more people involved and helps build interest in cycling, I am all for it. Secondly, the words "sex" and "abs" appear on almost every magazine or publication that Rodale publishes. I remember reading once that those two words would help sell an issue on a newstand faster than any other marketing ploy.

What I thought was even funnier was the photo of the gal...could those shorts ride any lower? I've never seen a female normally wear their cycling shorts like low-rider jeans.

get some copies of RIDE

its my favourite cycling magazine, full of info & reviews and you can't mock professional athletes by calling them gay - considering many of them are married with kids.

Eitherway what he did is not intelligent and quite frankly and idiotic excuse to throw away some cycling magazines even though they might be lame. Maybe he got teased in the schoolyard and has a negative adverse reaction to these things?

Most cyclist I know are shaped a little like E.T.

I think the guy on the cover should wear a helmet....that'd fix up his look just about right!
