Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Matte titanium seat post?

Anyone know where to get one? I need one that's got a matte satin finish. Ok, not need, want.

Synchros and American Classic make (maybe 'used to make') Ti seatposts which were not highly polished but had a slightly dark matte finish.

Any jewelry making place with a sandblasting tank can make one matte in a few minutes. There's a lot of them down there. Up here it would not cost much. Down there, I dunno.......

You would have to find a used one, but the Airborne titanium seapost I have on my TST is a nice matte finish. Click on thumbnail for a larger image.

Good idea, I gotta see if they have a machine over in our NJ facility's shop that can do that.

That´s the Airborne - I have one also. The clamp is an odd design and can be frustrating to figure out the first time you install a saddle on the post. The Moots has the same type of clamp. Since there is no more Airborne, like the previous poster mentioned, you´d need to find a used one. They had a straight version and a set-back version. The Moots looks like it would have more contact between the saddle rails and the clamp.

The seatpost collar is titanium as well and also an Airborne. I bought the seatpost and seatpost collar during the time that Airborne was making the switch to Flyte due to their losing the rights to the Airborne name and I'm glad I did. To this day, I haven't seen anything that goes as well with my brushed titanium frame. If as the other poster suggested you were referring to the clamp at the top of the seatpost, it requires a spanner tool that can be purchased as Sear's - without it, mounting the saddle is a total PIA.

DOH !

I have the Alien one. It is about the same as the brush finish on my frame. It's not polished but not a real rough surface like sandblasting.

Amoeba Scud (if you don't mind the garish red decals.) Matches my frame as well. About $100 on Ebay if you can find one. Mine came from Hong Kong. The adjusting mechanism is very good.

for a 100 bucks, it looks good...https://www.bikesoul.com/seatpost.html. but really I think the thomson is the best seatpost out there. I have ti american classic post but it is really not as nice the thomson. if you want to save wieght, go with the masterpiece.
