Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The OCP Journey...

Dial_tone's post had me looking at some older pics of my Cannondale's transformation to an OCP machine.

Here she is basically stock:

Next I added a new tire with a red stripe, Campy brakes and pedals, and marble wrap:

Finally, red tires, seat, bag, and wrap:

I applaud your bravery for putting a bike with a triple, a seat bag and a stem that hasn't been flipped on here to be judged by the bikeforums mob. Good Luck

Looks good.

Do you go camping with that seat bag? That thing is huge.

That's a little too much red for me. I like to keep the tires and tape black. In my opinion they shouldn't even make those things in other colors because people buy them and put them on their bike. You did more or less match your shades of red, I will give you that.

I see your handlebars aren't pointing up towards space in the last pic as they were in the first one....good start .

However, your right brake lever looks like it needs to be brought down a bit....doesn't appear to look even with the other one.

It's a Campy setup, so I think it was just open to allow wheel removal.

Bags rule! It's not like the bike is super light, so a bag doesn't really change much.

I still sort of like the triple, but my other bikes are doubles or compacts.

Just waiting for Spring now...

You probably won't find red rims in that style, but you can buy red pedals.

....this journey will actually never end (not to contradict our fearless leader Patriot) but there is no pot of gold at the end of the OCP rainbow...only the next challenge to make you and your bike look even hotter!

That was kind of my metaphorical point. We search for the gold at the end of the rainbow, but will never actually get there. The fun is in the journey itself.

LONG LIVE OCP!!!!!

I thought the pot of gold was empty by the end of the OCP journey.

No, just your wallet.

One could say we look for the pot of gold to continue funding our journey. Alas, it never gets found, so we have to stick with these aweful time consuming jobs that eat into our valuable posing time.
