Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tour of Califorina

Hello All

My daughter, e-mail me this morning, with a link
so you can track the riders on the TOC. Suppose
to have live video, and be able to track the riders
with GPS. I was there this a.m, and it seems to work.
But the race, doesn't start till 2:00 p.m here in the
east. Here is the link:

I watched the end of the time trial yesterday. It is pretty goody coverage. Robbie Ventura, who is Landis coach, announces with someone else. The only problem is that you can't increase the size of the live video and sometimes the audio happens 30 seconds before the video displays what they are talking about. kind of funny...

Internet coverage has been very spotty. Sometimes the video works. Sometimes the audio works. Rarely do they both work. More often, neither work.

I have always gone under the assumption that it is better than nothing.

Have you tried the CSC utility? https://www.csc.com/teamcsc/tourofcalifornia/

What happened with the VS coverage last night? I had to record the race do to a 30th birthday party and when I went to watch it I got 17 minutes of bull riding before the race came on. so of course the recording ended right as the 9 guys in the breakaway went though the finish line the first time. it's bad enough they put the cycling on so late but then it gets pushed back by bull riding. almost makes me wish I was into bass fishing. they seem to show that 24/7.

One of the things I learned at a young age was that, when setting a recording timer, I would allot 15-20 minutes at each end as a "buffer"
