Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bump!

I'm looking at the same bars. They are really light, and good looking too ( ). Does anyone have any experience?

Light, and decently stiff for me. I can get the bar ends to flex a little if i put all my body weight on them and jump up and down. I'm only 160lbs so it might be flexier for big guys.

Great bars. I've got around 5k on mine. One of the best for dampening out vibration of the CF bars I've used.
I like the bend on them much more than some of the "flat top" bars out there too.

I can't tell from the pictures on Syntace's website. Is the carbon weave visible?

No, unfortunately, there is no carbon "weave" to keep the bars as light as possible....you can see the matte carbon, but there's nothing attractive about it....Overall, stiff, great shape and wins a good # of brownie points w/ the chicks....

Heres a better closeup shot. Theres no weave it in but it still looks nice. It's comfortable too, I don't wrap the tops of the bars and haven't had any discomfort whatsoever.

Sorry FrankBattle. Your avatar/sig just don't have quite the same pizazz that mine does, to attract people, you know. It really means that everyone on this forums hates you.

You should go sulk in the FG/SS forum for a while.

I just picked up a NIB set of Syntace Racelites off ebay for 150. Sounds reasonable to be for a 190g set of bars.

I believe a surface "weave" layer is mainly cosmetic. Loose the weave, loose the weight.
