Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wow. It's nice to see all the great looking Bianchis in this thread. After a few more miles I have come to really like the Chorus quick shift FD. What an improvement, very fast one touch shifting. Now I need a celeste coffee mug.

It is a FSA seatpost but I have no idea if it's 31.6 or 31.4.
Or what that means.
I don't see numbers like that on the post.

It's great to see it. I can't wait to suffer on your wheel the next time we ride together.

Giving credit where it's due. I just managed the operation. The work was done by Waterrockets Jr.

He's been building wheels since he was 1:

Hi mjf,

Now that's how one builds a proper Bianchi. Great color and component choice IMHO.

Are you going to race it when you are fully recovered? Even if you don't it looks like a great ride.

No racing for me. I just ride for the enjoyment and the exercise. I am going to hit the road today and see if I can ride a bit before the ankle hurts. I may drive to the beach and avoid the big hill I live on. Flat ground should be ok, but going up the hill to my house will put to much pressure on my ankle.

What a gorgeous bike. I have three pair of those Vittoria celeste tires, found on the Bay, and I love them. Some of the nicest rolling clinchers I've used.

  • FSA SLK Carbon Cranks (50/34 170mm)
  • PZ Racing "white carbon" (well, not really carbon) stem, bars, and seatpost
  • Ultegra front and rear
  • Fizik Arione Titanium saddle in sliver/black
  • Ok, blue Vredestein Fortezza may not be the best match!
So far, I love the ride. Very smooth, solid and quick.

PS: Who do you like that bar tape? Does it feel pretty grippy and well cushioned?

Thanks!

It is Bianchi bar tape. Not as much cushioning as I would like, but it looks good and cleans well. I am afraid that a cork tape in silver would get too dirty on the roads I ride on.
