Question About Sizing

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Question About Sizing

I am 6.5' and just got a 58cm Specialized Allez Elite Triple and was wondering who else is around 6' and rides a 58cm. If it is too big is there i can shorten the the stem or move the seat around to make it fit better. My boss insisted that a 6' person should ride a 58 cm.. Please Help

Are you 6'0.5" or 6'6"?

I've never ridden that particular bike. My 58 XR800 is a little big for me (I'm 6'). Fit depends on more than your height.

It depends. You really need to go to your local LBS and get fit on the bike you like. If you want a general idea, then look at on of the online bike fit calculators like this one. Also do a search here. Good luck.

BTW, I'm 5'11" and I ride a 58cm Fuji and am in line for a 57cm Orbea. They're all different.

Cyclocross bikes will be a little big because of the tires.
I'm 6' even and ride a 58cm.
I use to ride a 56cm Specialized and found it too small. They do have compact geometry so I think you can get away with it.

Did you buy from a LBS? If so, ask them to do a fit for you.
