Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Suggestions: carbon bottle cages

I didn't think too hard when I ordered my pair of Profile Design CF Cages.
The wide CF tape used to fabricate it doesn't match well with my tight weave.

I want to buy a new pair (Black and White or maybe just black). Any suggestions?

Looks like this but with the wide tape (a la Orbea Onix)

I would paint it red... Or are you asking about painting? It isn't really clear to me what you want suggestions about.

Not bad! Wish it didn't have any red though...

I;ve seen some uber futuristic looking ones that are tempting but I wonder how durable they are. (this ZIpp and the Profile Design up top looks fairly strong)

Serfas Cirque

They look nice, light, and not too pricey. Best thing is the rubber piece actually holds a bottle securely.

Different color options if you really want to go OCP.

Of course there are good $5 AL cages that work as well, and are as light.

These kinda remind me of Performance's house brand...

I believe that some of the Performance cages are actually the RavX brand. The Elite Patao's are the shizzle, IMO.

What does a carbon cage weigh vs. an aluminum one, typically? Spending $50 on a cage is hardcore!!!

My American Classic cages weigh 48 grams each. The carbon cages I ordered weigh 25 grams each (according to weight weenies). However much more important is the carbon cages are just going to look much, much better on my new carbon bike. Definitely making them worth the $60 each.

lol! Yeah its totally unnecesary....but looks so cool!
I can't pay over $40~ per cage without getting sick....but up to $40 I can play games in my mind to justify it...

"I spent $90 on dinner, $20 on gas and $80 on drinks last weekend....if I stay home this weekend, then..."

Don't we all play that game?
