Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm no pro but it looks like it's too spaced out. Isn't it supposed to be like wrapping around one layer on top of the next?

You seemed excited about it in the bar tape thread earlier, before you got it. I don't know if I like the yellow/black color. All yellow or all black might look better.

I don't think the dual color bar tape spaces out well on TT/Tri set up. I like the idea you had but I think with your set up I'd go with a straight yellow.

Try the Fizik Microtex tape. It comes in yellow but seems to be a bit difficult to get in that color. I just put the chalk white on my bike, and it feels fantastic --- as good or better than the cotton tape I like so much.

I was being a little theatrical. Its not that bad. I think some dilligence by whoever put it on could have made it alot better. I would have taped it so an equal amount of black showed.

Yeah BDG, I have to agree with you about the bar tape. But if it feels comfortable in your hands, who cares about the way it looks!

By the way, you better keep a close eye on the top of your seat tube. Those things have a tendency to crack, you know.

I think it would look better if it were cork. That looks like the tape on baseball bats or tennis racquets. That said, it's got to be yellow. I can't think of another color that would work. Nice bike!! Just go ahead and get some use out of it before you change it. Get it dirty and sweaty. How does it feel in your hands? I love Ksyrium SL's. They are awesome wheels aren't they?

It actually feels great, and I know it's minor but it really bothers me, i just hate the way it looks, it looks like fast half job, It must of been just hard to follow the pattern I wanted I guess.
I have to change it NOW!!! I had plain yellow and it looked a whole lot better then this. Ill try and find a good quality plain yellow.

The good news though is that they cleaned my cable housing and my ride was smooth today, my new sidis are the bomb and i do like my over priced bottle cage, so overall when riding I forgot about the tape and rode fast and well

But Ill get this thing off.

and dont worry about inconveniencing the bike shop, it's your dime. when i was playing around with different colors/textures i had them wrap & rewrap my bars 4-5 times. i eventually went with black but they didn't mind the process.

Try wrapping in the opposite orientation with black being the dominant color. Take your time, keep everything tight and watch for even spacing. Don't overlap as much in order to let a little more of the second tone out to breathe.

...then again it might end up looking like a bumble bee....
