Garmin 305 Odometer
Hello again, I know this Garmin Edge 305 thing has come up alot lately but i was just wondering if you delete the files on the unit after you have uploaded the info to motion does the edge at least keep a running odometer of total mileage or is this deleted also? I trust if it does not the only place to find it would be by looking online....

I believe so. Training Center or Motionbased, or whatever other software you may use with your 305, will be the only place to tally your total mileage once you delete the history from the device.

Training Center will keep up with your mileage. You can also use Sports Tracks.

Ride it like you stole it
There really is no odometer field in the Edge, so even if you never deleted info, two things would make this useless as the Edge is configured now. One is the fact that after you start filling it with data the Edge will selectively delete old data to make room for new data, and second, the Edge would only record mileage if you record the ride. If you use TC you can and should organize your data from your rides. I create a folder for each year, then in that folder I create on for each month. When I import data I then move it to the correct monthly folder. TC will automagically segregate the data into weeks and now you will have totals for each month and the whole year. You still have the issue of having to hit the start button for each ride, but that is easy to remember to do.

I realy like the features of SportTrack software. It is compatible with Garmin and for works best because it has all the different views built in plus many other features. Oh, and is free.
