Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You paid for shipping right? Congrats on the purchase. I hope they allow free shipping again....lost cause I think. Ebay started out with free listings.

it's a flat rate, right? if it is, then it's still cheap as chips if you order in bulk (ie 2-3 pairs of tires instead of 1).

Good purchase. You can't be PBK on Look pedals.

To just be informative, and nothing against the Keo Classic, everyone should be aware that the Classsic and Sprint models use one less bearing than the Keo Carbon. Also the highest tension setting of the Classic is the lowest setting on the Carbon.

Now that PBK has started charging for shipping, there are some Ebay sellers that come REALLY close on the Keo Carbons.. within about $10.00. I'm thinking about picking up another pair and trying to decide where to buy them.

It's $10 for F sakes. Shipping from ebay, Performance, Nashbar, etc...is always more than that. Good prices, cheap shipping and quick turnaround...what's not to like! Of course, people have to b*tch about something...!

Oh, this brick of gold, it's too heavy to carry...

If they just arrived, isn't it a bit late to ask for others' opinions?

Espcially from the UK, at which rate, shipping back would be half the cost of your pedals

My wife's Carbon Keo's arrived today, took 14 days to Canada....Damn customs peopl...Had an additional charge of $25 for taxes and brokerage fee...So brought the total cost to $173CAN...Still probably saved close $100 compared to what an LBS around here would charge for the pedals...

No way, they'll suck. I'll do you a favour and take them off your hands for $70.

Quick Look Q -

A friend lent me a pair of Look R5.1 pedals when I built my Lemond. How different are the KEO carbons - in other words, worthwhile upgrade?

You know.. I have Classics on one bike and Carbons on the other and the Classics are much harder to get clipped into. I find myself constantly missing the clip in point and having to fumble with the pedal trying to get clipped in. I NEVER have this problem on the Carbons.

I love PBK. I picked up a couple of ProRace 2's for half price I could get them anywhere in the US before they started charging for shipping. I received the tires in California in 6 days.

Even with the $10 shipping they are charging now - if I buy more than one tire I am saving some cash.

YES. Just upgraded to Sprints from A5.1s myself. Better float (4.5 degrees is for me a sweet spot--enough float, but not unclippable like 9 degrees floats are on A5.1s).

Now better question--are the carbons worth the extra $$ over the sprints?
