Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Voler Elite DX Bibs-Anyone try them yet?

I've been riding regular Voler bibs for several years now, but it's time for replacements. Has anyone tried this relatively new model Voler bib yet? They seem to be a little more hi-tech and more expensive than the standard ones I've been riding.

I bought two pair of them in December. I like them. The lycra is much lighter. Supposedly has a new texture in the right places to reduce drag (like that matters for most of us!). Regardless, they are very nice. They have a new chamois (sp?) in them. Overall I like them. Seem a better quality than the old ones.

I've been thinking about it too. Our team shorts have the same chamois. It's quite thin and I got really uncomfortable in a race that was only 30 miles. But then I'm female and they don't change the inserts for us, if that makes a difference (which is why I'm looking at men's bibs--the women's shorts don't fit so well anyway).

I have a pair of the older elite bibs (not dx) and honestly like the regular ones better. The material is thinner and seems to stretch over time so they don't seem to fit as well as when they were new. I'm hoping the new DX bibs have better fabric...
