Beer at lunch...Is my afternoon ride ruined?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1 beer = 1 hour to be out of your system. 2= 2 hours. They'll be gone by the time you ride. Add some caffeine before the ride and take off.

Yep...think of it as carb loading. Hydrate, ride and sweat it out.

The alcohol certainly doesn't help but hopefully you didn't get too much.

Drink more until the lethargy goes away and then go for a ride.

Yes, the solution for all drinking related ill-effects is drinking more.

(Similar to money spending problems).

there's a thread on SSFG where the folk there post their 'arts in progress'.

there seems to be a fair share of wood/lino cuts popping up. hadn't seen so many of them since 1989.

the better question is why drink an inferior imitation of a proper hefweizen or ipa (assuming that's what the OP and you are drinking. apologies in advance if that's not the case).

No, he would be banned for asking such an absurd question, most people in that forum drink pretty heavy before hitting the bike.
