Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good News #1: I did my 100th ride of the year today. It was an unceremonious 12-mile trip to the grocery store.

Good News #2: Clif Bars are on sale for $1.

Good News #3: Cantaloupes are on sale for $1.25.

Good News #4: I had to buy new batteries for my Cateye computer. They just so happened to be on sale.

Good News #5: 3 weeks from now I won't be living in Toledo anymore.

Good News #6: I think the bad weather is finally over for the year.

Life is good.

Not exactly. I use BikeJournal.com and it counts that for me automatically. I noticed the 99 yesterday and I was kind of surprised that the year was even that old.

Congrates DX on your 100th ride. Love that avatar. So are your 2007 miles (2651) ahead of your pace last year at this time?

Nope. Last year I did 10,012 miles. I was at 3,059 this time last year, and I had a lot less than 100 rides. Last year had better weather, especially in February. I had a bad May last year, though, so I should be able to catch up. I also took 2 weeks off at the end of December, which I'm not sure I want to do again this year. I did that mostly because I was having taint problems.
