Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2007 Pearl Izumi gloves ripping

I bought the new Spring '07 Carbon Pittards half-finger glove last Monday, and noticed this morning that there is a large rip in the palm leather in between thumb and index finger. My friend has the same thing happening (although he did cut the full-fingers down to half) on his Gel-Vent gloves. Anyone else experience this? The '06 Pittards gloves held up for quite some time for me, and I only replaced them because I lost one.

Yes...every single pair of my PI goves have failed prematurely. Luckily I have a PI outlet close by and they replace with new...no questions asked. I have heard that most LBSs that sell PI will do the same on behalf of PI.

Yes.

However, I switched to specialized bg gloves instead of returning them.

I've noticed their quality is not as good as it used to be. I have old PI gloves that are still going strong after many years, but it seems the ones purchased in the last 1-2 years don't last. I'm probably going to switch to LG or Specialized next pair.

I would switch, but they just keep giving me new ones. Right now 3 pairs last a season, with fresh ones for the new year.
