Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

a question on shoes

I've got a friend with who wears a size 45 sidi road shoe. Unfortunately sidi didn't keep the Look drill holes in the same position in the larger sizes as is has on the regular sizes and the holes are a full 3cm behind where they need to be.

So the shoe isn't positioning correctly over the pedals.

Do you folks have any suggestions on what can be done to fix this, or is there another brand that works better in the larger sizes?

Thanks.

I wear a size 46, and had Sidis, with Look pedals. The shoe was correctly positioned over the pedal. 3cm forward would put the cleat too close to the toe.

I wear size 47 Sidis, use Look pedals, and have no trouble with cleat placement. Did your friend get a defective pair of shoes? Just doesn't sound right.
