Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

brake help

i just started cycling, and im trying to learn to maintain it myself. the other day i got a flat so i had to take the tires off. when i put them back on the brakes were misaligned (by misaligned i mean that the pads were pressing against the rim even thought thelever wasn't being squeezed). for the life of me i could not figure out how to adjust it. everything i did seemed to make it worse. since i have to ride to get around i kinda just did some riggiing and pretty sure i made it worse. how can i fix this? here is a picture of what the front one looks like now.

You've knocked one pad completely out of alignment for starters. You may have other issues, too, like the alignment of the wheel in the dropouts/centered between the stays. Start here: https://parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=22 . If you run into more issues, try posting in the mechanics froum
