Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Richmond Group Rides

I'm going up to visit my parents in Midlothian next week and was wondering where the moderately-fast to fast group rides were. Thanks!

Saturday morning there's the ABC Ashland Breakfast club ride. It goes along leisursly for a bout 10 miles before the sprint at the city limit sign. The real fast guys don't stop at Hardee's and do a loop through Hanover county. The rest stop at Hardee's for breakfast. There will be a reasonably fast group that will do the same loop, and others that just come back to Richmond.

Check www.raba.org

the Chesterfield county ride would be on your side of town, but might not be quite fast enough for you.

The Innisbrook ride is a good fast ride. There will be a few people that can hammer, and a second level that's fast, but below race pace. Kim and Mike Moore are nice folks.
