Do you share your C02 with other bikers?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It’s pretty easy to be generous with your air if you carry a frame pump.
But if you only carry one or two C02 cartridges, do you pull over and pump up some guy’s flat tire?

I've always offered when I come across someone with a flat but no one has ever taken me up on it.
Its not because I look like a deranged lunatic, its because they were well prepared themselves.

Yes. That's a no brainer.

I can't imagine saying to someone, "Oh, I'd love to help you, but i might, just maybe, get a flat later in my ride. Good luck."

During a mountain bike race a guy asked me if I had Co2. He was pro and I was racing the collegiate so I gave it to him. In retrospect I shouldn't have. Had I flatted it would have cost me greatly.

So in non race environments - I'll give someone my Co2, and risk flatting myself.

Come race day, be prepared or walk back to the start line!

If I carried C02, I'd bring three carts, just in case.

I'd do it, I've never been asked though.

I've given away spare tubes, but never my last one.

I have given catridges, tubes, loaned tools, phones, repaired flats, adjusted cables, made broken spoke wheels ridable, hung with lost riders until the rest of their group showed up, all for strangers with no mention of compensation. Hopefully it makes up for me being a complete ass the rest of the time.

How hot is the biker with a flat?

Seriously I have a mini pump/CO2 system and if your some dude and you get a flat you are welcome to use the mini pump. If you are a female....then well I will probably offer up the CO2. Yes I am that shallow.

If you are in my group and you get a flat then I would offer up a spare (I carry 2 cartridges) CO2 but I will be keeping one for myself for sure.

Yup, done it, always will do it. I always carry two cartridges and two tubes (although if I feel good about the sealant I'll cut that down to one tube).

Give him the N2O and take his 404's while he's distracted.

I gave a co2 and a tube to a guy whom I had never met before just this past Saturday. A thank you is all the payment I ever need.

hmmm, I guess I don't know. I stopped to help a couple of guys (who were amazingly clueless by the way) fix a flat and did the whole thing including putting on my own glueless patch but they had their own pump. The glue they thought they had apparently had dried up years ago. Anyway, I'd like to believe that I would have aired it up too if they didn't have a pump.
