Helmets for a bald guy
I started shaving my head about a year ago. Since I usually wear a head sweat cap under my helmet to stop sweat getting in my eyes. I have started looking at helmets and looked at an LAS Squallo the other day. It almost looked like it had a head sweat insert in it. It felt very nice on....I was wondering if anyone used this type of helmet or if other models had this feature....

I use an LAS haxial. The inner liner is a sweat band/net that grips the whole head. It doesn't squeeze the front and back of your head like others.
The liner is removable and designed to be washed.
Best helmet I've ever had, and certainly better than my giro pneumo or bell sweep.
The top spoiler is removable, but in mirror finish, it reflects away sunlight. Some thought went into this design.

I don't have a shaved or bald head, but I do love my new Squalo. The interior is very well thought out...super comfortable.

Hmm, I just wear a Coolmax cycling cap or helmet liner, or nothing at all on my shaved head. I am more prone to use a cap or liner under my helmet in sunny weather to avoid sunburn.

I have a couple of different ones that I alternate using. One has a central air vent on the centerline, the other has vents equally spaced on each side of the centerline. Alternating them through the summer minimizes bizarre tan lines.

I shave my head too and as I've stated many times on these forums, the Bell Alchera is the most comfortable helmet I've tried to date. I was in the LBS last Friday and tried on the Atmos '07.....for me, the Bell helmet was a better fit. And for the sale prices at Nashbar and/or Performance, it's a great deal.

I shave my head and wear a Limar 908 with a headsweats skull cap. Seems like a pretty good system to me.

Squallo Squallo Squallo...yes! Attention everyone!!! LAS Helmets are soooo nice. They feel great and provide a secure fit! Put it on, adjust the knob to cinch it down and you're off. The straps are softer, yet more durable...geez...after all these years wearing giro I'm sold on LAS.
About the sweat issue. The Squallo comes with two different liners: warm & cool weather. The liners make a big difference in comfort in my opinion. I have noticed a big difference with the sweat-drip factor as well. I used to tweak my old helmet around at the end of a long climb to wring the sweat out of the pads in my old helmet. You guys know the game: remove glasses; tilt head forward; watch the sweat pour. For some reason, the combination of fit and improved liner helps dramatically. Um...again, go LAS. Really....you'll appreciate it.

sorry for digging up an ancient thread but... this bald guy went into LBS last night hoping to buy a nice helmet for around $90. I've been riding since 1984 and have never had a helmet that fit well (huge mellon, long and narrow).
Well when I tried on the LAS I swear I heard angels singing. It was as comfy as a beanie cap. I nearly had a heart attack when the girl told me it cost $190 but in the end I had to buy it after trying all the Giros, Bells and Treks they had.
What triggersd said is true in my opinion. Worth every penny.
And now I'm going to give my Trek helmet away in the pay it forward thread. Just gotta find a box to ship it in.

I had a Pneumo that rotted out. Replaced it with a Squalo, which I love. As previously noted, different liners for seasons, and comfy adjustment system. I agree with the sweat management comments. I wear a light skull cap and balaclava in the winter, and both fit, along with my really big head.
