Newbie needs a little advice
Hey guys,
Wow, I briefly looked over some threads here... tons of info.
I was offered a bike from my uncle and am wondering if I could get a little input as to whether this would be a good buy or not. It's a Jamis Aurora. He is unsure of the original DOB, but said he picked it up used in 05' from someone who had owned it for a couple years... so he is guessing 4-5 years old (02' or 03' model). He just tuned it and replaced the fork from an accident. It looks like it is in great shape and he says it rides great. He said I could take it off his hands for $200.
I looked up some specs on the bike and it looks pretty ideal for me. I am 22 and have been riding a Diamondback mountain bike for some time now. I threw some hybrid tires on a while back as I noticed that almost all of my riding tends to be on the street, so something geared towards road touring has an appeal to me. From what I gather, people are saying that the steel frame gives comfortable ride, while the bike is still quite speedy. I like the idea of being able to go on long trips with some gear for a night or two of camping as well, which I also gather that this bike is ideal for (which I suppose is why it is classified as a 'touring' road bike). I am not a hardcore rider but do enjoy a nice 15-20 mile jaunt maybe once or twice per week.
Anywho, that’s about all the info I know about it. I wish I could post some pics of it on here (can I somehow?). Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tejay

Looks like an awesome starter road bike that should last a while and take you many miles. See you on the roads. Um, one thing though, does it fit you? If not, then it's not a good deal.
