Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best Doper of all time?

There should be two "all time" best categories in cycling. Dopers and everyone else. It remains to be seen how large the everyone else pool will be considering Puerto, but choose your favorite!

Includes those caught and the I didn't inhale defense (intending to dope, but just didn't get around to it). Oh, and includes those busted after Festina so I guess it's not all time best, but you get the point.

Basso has always been my favorite doper. Hard to say if he is the best.

You have much to learn young skywalker. Ullrich suspended for 6 months in 2003 for amphetamines.

You know, even Lance admits to taking EPO (or whatever it was). A bit of a technicality, but still a guaranteed doper.

This has to be the most pointless thread in BF history. (And that is saying a lot).

I knew I'd be flamed for not adding the older racers who obviously doped, so should have specified since Festina.

Well, he was never caught, nor admitted to EPO beyond cancer recovery, so didn't include him.

Lance of course...... think BALCO. I only respect Lance because he had the money and Victor Conte behind him to help "train" for the last 2 perhaps 3 TDF he won. Berry Bonds also a BALCO customer will get his record and test clean but the year to year totals were posted under BALCO's careful watch.

forgot to say Lance was never linked to BALCO because his "training" was gained through 3rd party means...............CTS perhaps NOOOOOOOOO

steppy

If you want to get picky, Lance counts as a player, don't forget about the "saddle sore ointment".

EDIT: My all time fav is Pantani.

Yes, he was kicked out of the Giro for having an exceedingly high Hct. The thing is, hematocrit isn't dope.

I'm not touching the piss thing, though.
