Heard Anything (Good or Bad) About Bianchi’s C2C?
Getting ready to drop a few bills on my first “good” road bike. I’ve been on a 7 year old GT that has done me just fine and has logged a lot of miles for me, but it really is a starter bike.
Anyhoo (man I hate people that use that word) my LBS asked some very good qualifying questions and we came up with the Bianchi C2C 928 Carbon with a mix of Ultegras and 105’s.
If I ever race, it won’t be much, so I need something for those long rides on the back roads of Southern Illinois. This seems to be the perfect mix. Oh, and the tube bends look really cool.
I’m getting this at a pretty good price, but was just wondering if anyone had some experience with this ride. I could only find two reviews- both pretty positive.
Thanks everyone…

To me, the curve of that downtube makes it look pregnant. But between the lbs, the reviews and your opinion, you seem to like the bike. Go for it.

Somebody around here just got one a month ago or so, and seemed to really like it. Do a search.
EDITED TO ADD: Actually, maybe that was a Via Nirone rather than a 928.

I cant help but think the same thing about these as I do about the Pinarellos..form over function?? I know that there is a reason that the curves are there...optimized angles,,,increased stiffness.. etc. But those Italians...form over function. flame on.

If your gonna use it for long rides then it's perfect. When you race you should probably stay away from criteriums because I heard the steering isn't too responsive, which isn't bad, just not good for fast tight cornering.

I looked real hard at these when I was looking for a new bike. For some reason, I like their look, even though I'm a pretty traditional guy. I had read some good reviews about it. However, the bottom line was the LBS didn't have one built up in my size and didn't seem interested in doing so. They wanted me to test ride the Nirone, since it had the same geometry. I'm not going to plop down that kind of money without a test ride.
If you do get to ride one, report back.

Saw a few of these at the LBS. Really wanted to like them for the relaxed geometry and longer toptube. But between the pastel green (yes they can insist on fancy name like celeste, but it is still pastel green) and the "bent shaft" look (to me seems like bent the wrong way), I just don't see myself on one.
One LBS had a leftover '06 928, which had straight tubes and looked much more agreeable. Even though it too had a few splashes of pastel green on it.
