Italian bike with Shimano...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Italian bike with Shimano...

is there a moral obligation to buying an Italian bike with Campy stuff?

I sure like the way DA shifts, but I feel this urge to stay true to the bike.

Am I being silly here?

If you like Shimano, go Shimano. But try to find a Campy bike to test out for a decent length ride first. I love me some Campagnolo.

Mother Mary cries when you put Shimano on an Italian frame.

No.

Understandable, but the bike doesn't care. Choose what works for you.

Yes, but I won't make fun of you.

I don't think it should matter really.

I do however ride a Spanish bike, so either one is equally justifiable in my opinion. I just prefer the feel of Shimano.
