Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) Ride today - *VIDEO*

Played a little hooky from school today (last week of class, can you blame me?), and went up to GMR to take advantage of it still being car-less for another few days (they're opening it back up to vehicle traffic 6/1.) Was halfway up the climb when I realized I had my video camera and my ultra-pod in the car so I high-tailed it down and grabbed it, and went back up. Set it up on the road for a few still shots, then rigged it to the bike in a few different positions to get various vantage points. Didn't record much of the climb because it's pretty much the same thing, so I focused more on the descent.

Edited it to 3 minutes set to music - hope you enjoy it!

Sorry in advance if this is boring - it was my first attempt at a cycling-related video with spartan equipment/software.

really? i thought they were going to be surveying it for quite a while?

I have been wanting to give it a shot before I move to the east coast but it looks like I'll have to do it with traffic

Hell yes. That takes me back.

Great video. It's 'almost' as good as the real thing.
