Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For all the Cannondale lovers out there...

Prototypes were apparently ridden by two Liquigas riders in the Giro:

(Note the Alloy bars )

My LBS says they will have this model in their store within a couple of weeks.

Oh yes, Lance Armstrong stopped by the shop 10 days ago and bought bike tires. No kidding. He was visiting NY City and typically rides up to Nyack (like everybody else) when he's in town and stopped by Piermont Bicycle Connection. He was on a 2008 Madone (the Giant look-alike). I will be pressing them for photographic evidence of this anecdote in the near future.

Looks like they're taking a cue from Cervelo's seatstay design

I dont know I do love my crack-and-fail but a carbon one? The CAAD Series are the true race bikes plus I think they look sexier.

Note all guys who actuatly race their bikes a lot never ride carbon bars, plus I dont think FSA makes traditional bars in carbon.

Thanks for the tip, I'll warn a few of my K-Wing equipped friends (who race every weekend) that they had better swap out those FSA 'Wings before recneps catches them in the act.

Are statements like that some side effect of too many head impacts in bicycle crashes?

I saw one at Incycle on Saturday. They received it Friday and one of their mechanics built it Friday night. When I was leaving to ride Saturday, my wife was leaving to work. She nonchalantly mentioned, " oh yeah we got one of the Super Six bikes like some of the Liquigas guys are riding in the Giro." I have had tons of bikes made of every material, but I have never liked any as much as my last two, a Six13 and now a System Six so I am pretty certain I will like the Super Six. I had actually planned on ending my ride at the shop that day any ways to pick up the car from my wife. When I got there they were sending the Super Six to one of their other stores without pedals so I didn't get a chance to ride it. The mechanic that built it had taken it for about a two hour ride that morning. He said the ride was worth getting chewed out by his boss for riding it.

I actually race my bike quite a bit and love my System Six much better than the last CAAD Series frame that I had. I won't say that I never rode carbon bars but after breaking a pair of Easton Equipe EC 90s last week, I will never ride them again. Those bars were never crashed. I took off from a light and was pulling up on the brake hoods when the right side of the bars came off in my hand.

Cannondale also has a new TT bike coming out. Di Luca rode it in the TTT and ITT.

Yeah ive seen guys get into the smallest crashes with carbon bars and they are toast. Ive even seen a guy drop his bike in a parking lot before a race and break his bars.

sorry I think i was high when I wrote that CAAD series statement, I want to change it to 'I think the CAAD series is a better bike because If I crash it its only $500 to replace it plus I like the way it ride as compared to the six13'.
