Nice looking CAAD 8, I really like the black 105 shifters. I am getting ready to drop a set of those on my Gunnar Crosshairs.

Thank you...I just posted it in the under $700 bike thread along with my GF's....I had a lot of fun building/converting these bikes. I just started getting into road biking this year and did not realize how easy and fun it can be...

'06 Orbea Vuelta. 10-speed 105 group, with some strange silver FSA Gossamer cranks (I've never seen them on anything but an Orbea), switch off between stock Shimano R550s and Easton Circuits and a crap set of Alex DA22s for trails. Not a superlight, and I guess it makes a bit of a difference since I'm generally a tiny person, but I've been riding cromo the rest of my life, so this feels awesome. Love the paint scheme.

I'll post images as soon as I find my camera...which I think I lost in Japan.

Oh yeah and Crank Brother Quattro Pedals in Black. They look awesome and...well...work kinda sketchily. But I think everyone should also get the Hutchinson Fusions. I ride them, and not only do they keep the Black-Silver thing going but they're 180 grams for the 700x20s and they're FAST.

Hello All, I have been following (lurking...) the forum for some time now, but since I took a few pics of my bike for something else, I thought I might as well share them here as well. I have had "Blue" for quit some time now, and it has gone through several configurations. Currently:

1988 Trek Bonded AL 2000 frameset w/custom Blue metal flake paint
    Shimano 600 Dura Ace cranks
Shimano 600 Dura Ace 8 speed SIS shifters
2005 Ultegra brakes, FD, RD, cassette, Head set(threaded)
    Shimano HG90 9 speed chain
    Selle Italia Flite gel saddle
    Mavic Akisium wheelset

I bought the frame new, and probably has 80k miles or more on it...been my friend for a long time.

Thought you all might be interested...

I just came back to cycling after nearly 20 years off the bike. Bought a Trek 1000 and am having a ball. Got it a month ago, and have about 300 miles on it so far. Only upgrades from stock were Speedplay X5 pedals (and Sidi Zeta shoes ... comfy!!), plus Bontrager Race Lite hardcase tires (I HATE flats ...).

Helping me meet my goals -- after a month, I'm down about 9 pounds, and am steadily increasing mileage and fitness.

It is a 34T single crank. There is no front derailleur. The rear is a 11-34 XTR cassette. I get around 22-24 at the top speed using the 11t in the rear depending on my cadence. but it climbs like a billy goat.

Thanks to all those in the forums that helped me out.

What rear derailer are you using?

I am using a Ultegra triple long cage. I tried using a Shimano XTR mtb long cage but had difficulty with gear skipping for some reason.

Shimano Ultegra brakes and Shimano shifters.

The crank is a FSA energy compact with the 52t taken off.

No picture and nothing special, but I just bought a Specialized Allez Sport Triple 2 weeks ago. It's SO much better than the too-large, bent, delapidated Cannondale I got for free and had been riding for the last 3 years. One of the best parts about the Allez is that it is satin black.

I just got a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 in June 2006. What a sweet ride: floats like a hovercraft on a cushion of air, corners like it's on rails, and tips the scales at under 18lbs *with* 2 full water bottles and those anachronistic aluminum MTB pedals with clips & straps!

Of course, my previous bike was a Trek 750 hybrid, so practically *any* new road bike probably would've gotten me this stoked.

Dig the dork disc that came with the Mavic Kysirium Elites!

This is my bike...a 2002 Cannondale R500 Triple. I'm ashamed to admit I have no pics with me! My wife is taking care of it while back in Texas while I am overseas for a year....

Last year, at age 56, I got interested in cycling after I retired. I bought a Trek hybrid last summer and have put over 2,800 miles on it so far this year. I've been researching entry level road bikes the past couple of months. Yesterday, I bought a Raleigh Cadent 1.0. I'm starting out slowly, so I had some platform pedals put on to get me started.
