Finally I figured out the attachment feature!!!!

Here is my 2004 Tank Racing. Formed alluminum frame with formed carbon straight blade fork, 2003 Ultegra 9 speed shifters, brakes, crank, B.B., rear deraileur and cassette. Campy bolt on front deraileur, intergrated headset, 3T stem and bars, Flight Ti saddle, front Bopntrager select, rear Mavic Open SUP on Coda hub. Because of the snow and cold weather it has only seen the trainer. I can't wait to get it out on the road.

    What do you think?

Waterford is still making a stock of the 58cm size frames, so I have a few weeks to think of a color, but I'm leaning to either a yellow or green.

    Some of the components:
    Shimano 105 gruppo
    Crank - 30x42x52
    Cassette - 9 speed 12x25
    TTT Forma 44cm handlebar

I haven't decided on my pedals or saddle.

I'll post pictures of the real thing as soon as I get it in a few weeks. I feel like a proud Daddy!
    go with yellow!

Don't worry so much about the color!

Try to get some Ultegra on it! Especially a good idea to go Ultegra in the cranks, BB and shifters. Although 105 is good it ain't Ultegra!!

The 853 is the way to go as far as I am concerned. I have been riding aluminium and tried carbon. I settled on the steel in favor of the carbon because I liked the smoothness of the ride so much. I guess you know it is like having shocks on the bike!! I had the chance to get a Giant TRC1 for only a couple of hundred more than my Lemond, but shyed away after hearing about failures with the Tiwanese carbon.

Also, I just switched back to a double chainring set up. Tripple is fine if you ride alone and speed is not an issue (or your friends are slow) or if you want to climb BIG mountains. If you want to hang with true roadies a double is the way to go!! The gearing does seem to make a difference!! I am beginning racing (at the ripe young age of 54) and can't keep up with the guys with doubles (of course my tripple is a 48/36/26, so that may have something to do with it). You may want to consider a 53/39 with a 12/27 cassette (that is what I did on the suggestion of a friend who races a lot) He recommended 12/27 and switching to 11/23 for races.

I have done a lot of research on saddles too. The results - Sella Itallia SLK, SLR or Sella San Marco Era Lux. I went with the Luk on my new bike because I thought the extra padding would help the old tusch. It is quite possible that I will get the SLK to try. Unfortunately, neither of the companies have a "try it" period so I may end up with two saddles.

    Colour

    Hey Wlevey,
Did you say "don't worry so much about the colour", isn't the colour everything, it was my first consideration, whoa man, colour get's it every time for me, go for the colour!

Here's my new 2003 Raleigh Prestige. Aluminum frame with carbon seatstays and fork. All DuraAce with the brakes/cassette being Ultegra; Kysrium Elite wheels; bar/stem/seatpost all ITM Mantis.

May not be a big name on the frame but for $1500 I will take it; fits me great.

I'm now riding a mid-90s model Cannondale R500. It's a dark forset green with Shimano RSX group, save for a 105 rear deraillaur. I like it so far, but I've had problems with the shifters that some lube has cured. This is the best riding bike I've ever owned.
    Bikes use brakes to stop.

If your bike has breaks, don't ride it.

Sweet! I have a late '70s Raleigh Grand Prix steel frame and really enjoy how nice it rides. It is all original and still runs like a "deer".

    Enjoy!

    Paint jobs

I think, although not attracting too many coments persay, we are all agreed that colour is the most important and the thing that makes us riders who we are, heranyway nuff said, here is a picture of my bike again with my chosen colours.

I'm just going to post a link since I'm not to familliar on how to post a pic yet. My bike is exactly like the site says. The only thing that Ihave done is add a small seat bag and a tail light for the time change.

    http://www.masibikes.com/grancorsa.html

This is my first road bike and I plan to enter some races this spring and summer to see if I can spank a few mambers of the local team.

    New Today

All I need now is more time and clear skys to ride.
If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself. I ride now to catch up.
