What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here is my Ciocc. It is probably about a 1985 or so but I don't really know. The paint was shot to hell so I had to strip it and powder-coat it but it worked out really well as the powder-coat is very tough so this will be my all-weather bike. It is outfitted with new Shimano 105 9-speed mixed with some older 105 cranks. I feel that it should have a higher end groupo on it, but 105 is fine for an all weather bike. Sorry, I didn't have any Campy lying around

This is my Specialized Roubaix Elite Triple, a nice riding bike that I purchased from a former racer. It is full Ultegra and has the Specialized Zertz inserts in all the carbon bits, so it is a very comfortable bike.

The best part is, I'm certain I'll never see another bike like mine, a nice attribute of one-off, custom, self-painted wheels.

Question for the group. My bike is a 2004 Lemond Zurich carbon/steel combo. I weigh 220 and ride over 100 miles a week.

I have stock Bontrager 24 rear/20 front rims. I have broken spokes on the rear wheel during long rides.

I would like to invest in new rims. Some have said Mavic Ksyrium.

What do people suggest?

Sorry, missed text for above. It is a '05 Klein Q-Pro, Full Record groupset, with Bontrager race-lite wheels and Bontrager carbon bars/stem/seatpost. Sigma computer, Fizik Arione (Ti), and Vittoria Open Corsas. Best part - 17.12 lbs in 62 cm.

I got a fantastic deal on it. Going from a steel bike that is WAY over 20 lbs to this bike is pretty amazing.

It is a "true" race bike too - 39/23 low gear, no 29 tooth cassettes, compact cranks, or triples for me :~) But, then again, I am 6'3", 165 lbs, and 6% body fat.

Oh, and I still don't own a car, despite now having 4 bikes .......

Cheers~

Hello there, my new Roubaix Expert looks like this one. I put XTR pedals and a foo foo
Garmin computer on it. The coolest excessory ever, though, is the dork disk. Oh, and a
totally fly Mike's Bikes wedgie. This bike is a very sweet ride!
And I am a total Fred.
