BTW, I hope you realise that your brake releases are open.

Here's my road ride, a 1984 Dave Moulton with all SR Campy components, original paint.
August 1984; the Olympics were being held in Los Angeles. That same month a little south of LA I was building a 52cm. bike frame. The frame went to California Bicycle, a bike store in La Jolla and was built into a bike for a lady living in San Diego.

August 2004; exactly twenty years later Vintage Steve who now owns this very same bike and posts a picture of it on Bike Forum. In 1984 most of us could not even perceive the concept of the Internet any more than George Orwell perceived 1984 all that accurately when he wrote his book thirty-five years earlier.

All this made me wonder how many of the new bikes posted on this thread will be around twenty years from now in 2024? And will any one person be able to step forward and say, “I built that carbon fiber frame.” There is a very good possibility this same 52cm bike I built will be around; Vintage Steve will be a little more vintage; but I’m sure he will still be riding it.

To view more pictures of this bike and others; go to my website www.ProdigalChild.net and click on ‘Bicycles.’

Yes, actually we were having this discussion the other day at the LOOK message boards. Look came up with this design first about 1998-1999 I dont' know if BMC did come up earlier than that but most people came to realize that BMC may have taken a page or two from Look's design. Personally I wouldn't know, but when I read on cycling news.com that this new frame desing was first at the 2004 tour...it just didn't really sound right.

They are a bit similar in a way, but I wouldn't know if they are entirely for I have not seen the BMC bike in person yet.

This is my 1985 Dave Moulton custom. All original except the Mavic rims. I couldn't imagine riding anything else, it's akin to owning a vintage sports car, only no oil leaks. More pictures of this bike are at www.ProdigalChild.net . Have fun!

"Old school"? The carbon frame looks pretty modern to me. That's a neat headtube design. I think I'm starting to develop a headtube fetish.

The bike is built by a local S. Cal builder/racer Dave Arnold. The three main tubes are oversized Easton Scandium with Easton carbon seat stays and Reynolds fork. I'm 6'3" and around 205 lbs, and this bike fits me like no other I have ever ridden. It's not the lightest thing on the road at slightly under 18 lbs, but I don't mind sacraficing some weight for the performance. It is the best handling and most comfortable bike I have ever ridden.

So it is. I admit I don't that much about track bikes. Those welds are impecable. It fooled me into thinking it was CF.

    Fresh build (as in today!!)

2004 Scattante XRL with Ultegra (and a straight bar steering setup.) My own compact road crankset (39-45) using a Salsa 45 chainring. Still need to do the front derailleur...

Right now ~ 18lbs sans front derailluer / shifter / cable. Not too shabby.

    16.6lbs.... light enough!

My fresh build finished last night. Leader aluminum time trial frame, Shimano 105 components, Profile Designs bars and bottle cages, wheels were used from another bike. Light and fast.

Hey, how do you post pictures on these forums?

I ride a Merlin Oddesy Ti, Kestrel EMS fork, with Chorus 9 speed and Rolf Vector Pro tubulars. Ti is a magic carpet ride that is nearly as lively as a good steel frame.
