Therefore I choose a colour combination that reminded me of my childhood favorite, Hot Wheels, I love it and gives me tons of happyness from just looking at it to the comments I recieve while out riding it which have always been wow!

That bike looks bad to the bone! I love it! I can't wait to do a custom paint on one of mine, I am a master auto paint tech, so it would be pretty cool to do.

I know -- the bike is turned the wrong way and it's in a messy room. Actually, I'm just seeing if I can post a picture. We'll see won't we.

I have been riding a Trek 800Sport MTB to work since 2002. Before that, I had an old Raleigh. I purchased a Trek 2.1 in early July, 2009. I use this bike for recreation. The Trek 800 is my utility bike.

My first road bike, a 2009 Trek 2.1. I bought it in July. I got it on the cycle to work scheme, though I don't ride it to work. I work out on it. I have an 02 Trek 800 Sport, modified with a Lasco 52-39-30 crank, for commuting. This bike takes me on early morning (4am) and weekend jaunts. I am happy with the bike, though it rains a lot here, and with a little over a thousand miles on the bike, I lost my gears while on a 1 mile/650 foot climb. It turned out that both the front and rear shifter cables had frayed so badly that they were jamming in the cable housing. In fairness, we have had record-breaking rainfall this year, only September and October offering much in the way of dry opportunities. I did 60 miles on my first day with the bike--fell at least five times (clipless and clueless). In August, I did a seventy mile charity ride. In September, I travelled to a conference in Athlone, Co. Dublin, eighty miles from Limerick, and returned two days later. Not bad for a getting-older-by-the-day-newly-ex-smoking-fart.

Anyone getting database errors when trying to see the last page? The "Last >>" hyperlink on each page, as well as clicking on the recent post link on the Road Cycling main page try to bring me to page 519 which at the moment shouldn't exist (and there's still a link to it!).

The ghost pages used to appear with the old forum style, but it always redirected to the real page automatically and not give me a database error.

EDIT: I even got the error after posting this! BTW I'm using Safari 4.0.4 on a Mac.

Yes I think the last page has been "blank" for sometime. A "Go to " pop up keeps appearing then disappearing for me before I can use it.

Edit: I got the error after posting also.

At long last, picked up the bike today: 2010 Specialized Tarmac Expert SL Double:

(That isn't me holding the bike, by the way)

Will post more pics in the coming days. Just from riding it around the parking lot it just FLIES. Is very comfortable, especially with the Ultegra 6700 grouppo. What I find interesting is that the bike actually feels like it weighs the same as my Allez. The shifting is so precise and so quick compared to the Sora/Tiagra grouppo I had on my Allez. The brake levers exhibit a little bit of resistance due to the internal cable routing, but that is only a minor quibble. Immediately put the KOOL-STOP pads as well as the GatorSkins from my Allez on it. Am kind of scared to ride it now because it's all shiny... and clean... and the fact that the handlebars still have protective plastic wrap on them, haha.

We'll see how well I get adjusted to the double crankset vs the compact when I go ride the hills!

Note: The Saxo Bank logos on the bike are just stickers and the funny thing is that the Shimano 105 pedals I got for my Allez were the highest level Shimano component on it. Now they're the lowest level component on the Tarmac, haha.

Thanks! I plan on taking it to the LBS to get it fitted and get the shifters adjusted as I think the chain is rubbing a bit in certain gear ratios. The real challenge comes when going climbing (old bike was a compact, this is a double, and the 45 mi maiden voyage had only slight hills) as well as keeping it white haha...
