2001 Davidson Stilletto. Steel frame. Bought it at the LBS for $800, full Campy Record. Apparently some young buck wanted a bike with a tricked out frame material, so he traded it in. The LBS owner (a friend of mine) calls me and says, "you gotta see this bike". I came in, took it for a ride, and bought it. It is one sweet racing bike.

1973 Moser. Steel frame. Bought this from an old friend of mine. We raced together way back when, and I always liked his bike. I got in touch with him again a few years back after I heard he had multiple sclerosis. He needed the money, and I needed another bike (or so I told my wife). It's still a nice racing bike, and it's my backup / rain bike now.

Jamis cruiser, steel. Ride it with my kids.

1989 Cannondale M400 MTB, aluminum. It's at my mom's house in PA, and I ride when I visit.

Here is my "new" ride. A 3 week old trashpicked circa '79 SR SemiPro 12 spd. w/ full Shimano 600 gruppo.
Alot of degreasing, a little sweat and a small amount of cash and this is whaat I've ended up with for now. My other is an '83 Schwinn Traveler 12spd. Great bikes!

Woo HOOOO!!! Just picked up an '04 De Rosa King Carbon. I can't wait to get it late next week, will post the pics when I get it built up. I'd have loved to get it built Record, but I already have a DA group and I'm not going to spend 3K more for the brand police to be happy :D . But I sure am happy!!! I jumped on the Competitive Cyclist sale, but jumped too late and was crushed, then 10 minutes later found the same bike from Cbike for $500 less and was thankful I'd been late to the CC sale! :D

Your first road bike? I'm jealous (but hey, sounds like you earned it) - I just purchased one in the 2005 yellow/gold color after riding one pretty extensively in the right frame size. Been a steel-only guy for many years, but this is one sweet ride - enjoy! :)

Quite a tilt on those bars. Do your hands go numb after a while?

yes this is my first real road bike so I am still adjusting. I have rotated the handlebars a bit more so the brakes are lower, i.e. moved the bar clockwise when viewing the bike from the right hand side- is this what you meant?

My new ride that arrived today. I haven't even ridden it yet: 2005 Specialized Sequoia Elite. Cant wait to get out tomorrow. Random notes: the carbon fork and stays with Zerz inserts are beautiful; bike shipped with the wrong stem, it is supposed to be adjustable, new one on its way. The crank and rear dearaulieur are very sharp in black. (Pics suck, sorry) I have a bad neck that prevents long rides. I bought this bike with the hope that that will change.

Hahahahaha...Yeah, but the classy Lemond styling is enough to forgive it's aluminum sins (and oversize downtubes)

That's what I meant, but I think I'm talking about the opposite of what you are. If you look at most of the other bikes with drops, the ends are pointed slightly downward (usually to a point somewhere between the rear dropout and the brake) while yours has the end of the bars pointed towards the seatpost. Seems like it would put excessive pressure on your hands if you tried to stay in the hoods too long. But if it works for you, ignore me.

After looking @ the pic, it does appear that the bike has NO pedals. However, it's just the Speedplays color fading into the pavement. Look a bit closer! :)

caloso 10-18-04 11:11 AM

bac: Is that a Project One bike? I love the old school paint scheme.
