Seems like it would put excessive pressure on your hands if you tried to stay in the hoods too long. But if it works for you, ignore me.

Ok I was optimising for riding in the drops (the bottom bits of the bars) but as this is my first real roadbike I hadnt thought about riding in the hoods (the top part of the bar). I have rotated the bars back now as you suggest and will try out this configuration. Thanks for the tips.

Yup. I'm normally not one to buck-up for a paint job, but I didn't like the stock paint job in 2002, and the retro look just got me! :)

Here's my Raleigh - old, steel 10-speed, with Suntour components. Weighs a ton, but rides like a dream. I can't wait to upgrade to a real road bike, but for now I really enjoy this bike.

caloso 10-18-04 01:34 PM

atlas928: Looks like a real road bike to me. Enjoy!

Zin 10-18-04 01:51 PM

atlas928, I did my first century in June on my 1978 Raleigh Grand Prix 10 speed! What a great bike! I recently traded it off to a friend who was attempting to ride a bike that was WAY to small for him. The Grand Prix was a perfect fit.

What you have there is a "Classic" road bike. Take good car of it and enjoy the ride!

WoW, nice Fuji.

Specs, Please ?

extomesm 10-20-04 06:48 PM

is that six13 compact geometry??

noelting 10-20-04 07:19 PM

For proper fit, all cannondale sizes 48-54 have a seat tube that is lowered 1 cm and a head tube that is raised 1 cm.
This results in a slightly sloping top tube.
The measured size is from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube along the seat tube axis.

Here is me in August last year (2003) on the last third of an individual hill climb race.

It's not all that great, but I love it.

Got my Gunnar a few weeks ago. My first road bike and I'm very happy. Now if I could only stop the rain.

MRGolfo 10-21-04 07:35 PM

I'm trying to post some picks. Hope this works.

I think I have figured it out. Sorry.

Scoz 10-21-04 09:36 PM

The placement of those Campy ergos looks kind of high on that Pinarello. I dont think I could reach the the brakes from the drops.

Nice Pinarello though, Johnny.
