One of these days I'm going to get around to cutting down the steer tube.

    New:
Full SRAM Red group (except for a Dura Ace chain)
Selle Italia Flite Kit Carbonio saddle
    T3 ROTUNDO TEAM bars
    Look Blade pedals
    Michelin Pro 3 tires
    KCNC Ti QR Skewers

    Old:
    Large Ridley Damocles
DT Swiss 240s/Mavic Open Pro front wheel
PowerTap PRO+/Mavic Open Pro rear wheel
    Thomson Masterpiece seatpost
    Thomson Elite X2 stem

Given the parts, it's pretty porky at 16.5 lbs. The frame is over 1300g and the powertap also adds a lot.
ooh, so close to a good build. Just missed it by that much.

Thanks. I love my powertap. In addition to using it to pace myself, I use Golden Cheetah (free) on the PC and the website, Strava. Strava is nice because it gives you the avg power for the interesting segments (climbs, etc) on your ride. I use it to pace myself on them the next time. Also need a GPS for that though.

The bar tape is really excellent. It's Stella Azzurra Eleganza.

DA chain seems to be quieter then the SRAM one.

The SRAM one is worse than DA. KMC is what you want to run on SRAM.

Yeah, I've heard many success and horror stories about KMC chains (specifically x10sl). I didn't feel the gains were worth the risk. Happy with the DA chain for now.

My first road bike. I've have it for about a month now, '09 Cannondale Six 5 from LBS. It's been great so far, and alot of information on the forum helped me narrow down to my final selection - Thanks.

To me, the only solution (to the noise) was to replace both the cassette and chain for Dura Ace, now I'm happy.

A 1986 Bridgestone 450. Purchased new from Montgomery Wards. Stock form except the generator light system (purcahsed in the late 80's) and a new seat (purcahsed a few days ago). I have not even had to replace the tires on it yet. (it was in storage for many years and still needs a good cleaning...)

Rear Shimano SIS derailleur. Even after all this time, I really like the click to shift system. (and it works really well)

Tire that came on the bike - so what do yours look like after 24 years????

Anyway - It is a great ride and I really like it. No plans to upgrade to a newer road bike in the near future. (if only I was as happy with my cars)

Not a new bike, just updated it from 105/ultegra SL to a full Rival setup. lost half a pound of weight in the process too.

sorry that the iPhone pics are kind of blown out.

Does anyone happen to know what year my bike might be? I picked it up about 6 months ago from a local shop. The owner said someone had brought it in for repairs nearly a year ago and never came back for it and he needed a quick profit from it. So I have no idea about the bike's origin.

Gorgeous bike! How are you liking the Rival setup? I have 105/ultegra on mine and I'm getting the itch to go with SRAM rival. I'll probably end up waiting until it NEEDS replacing unfortunately
