    CAAD9 5, all 105 except for a new Ultegra 6700 chain.

Upgrades in the near future are Ultegra shifters, the seat (I loooooove that OEM San Marco, and it's a beautiful seat (works with the color scheme absolutely perfectly), even though I've heard bad things.. it's atrocious in anything other than cycling shorts, but I never ride it without them and I'm sure all low profile seats are like that. It's just taken a scrape or two and that's starting to bother me. That and the silver painted-on logo towards the front disintegrated within the first 400km. Recommendations for cleaning a white saddle in the mean time, and for a similar color/style saddle in a couple months? The shifters are next because I just had my 105 FD shifter die after about 2000km, which is very disappointing. I got lucky with the LBS and they replaced it 2 months after the end of the 1 year warranty.
    >2500k and not a single flat. I don't think it's fair to knock on wood anymore. (update feb 7 2011: whoops)
2009 Cannondale CAAD5 (white), stock Shimano 105 pretty much everything. Slowly Ultegra-izing, so far: the chain.

I use simple green spray to clean my white saddles and bar tape and it works great. I've heard good things about the magic erasers too.

    My new bike

I just bought this new Fuji SL-1 Comp. I was previously riding a Specialized Allez. Not a very good picture, unfortunately, as I couldn't find my camera and had to use the cellphone to take it.

After looking at the pic's of the bikes, it won't hold a candle against most of the bikes you guys/girls ride; however, I really enjoy my Roubaix Expert.

It's taking me a long time to adapt to the Rival shifting after using Shimano brifters for 10+ years. I am still improving after almost a year on the Rivals.

    2002 Merlin Extralight.

i've posted this before, but i've changed so much on it that i think it warrants another post.

the build is as follows... 2002 merlin extralight frame, reynolds ouzo pro full carbon fork, dura ace 7800 crank (w/ ultegra big ring), brakes, RD, FD, shifters and cables, ultegra 12-27 cassette, 105 chain, miche supertype post, bontrager rxxxl stem, easton ea70 bars, specialized toupe 143 ti rails, speedplay zero pedals, easton ea90 slx wheels, bontrager rxl tires and deda tape. blackburn flea front and rear lights and bontrager rxl cages.

"...I thought about evening when the boys wash up, sing, eat, raise a cup of wine in honor of love and life, and waiting at the door, the bicycle, stilled, because only moving does it have a soul, and fallen there it isn't a translucent insect humming through summer but a cold skeleton that will return to life only when it's needed, when it's light, that is, with the resurrection of each day." -- Pablo Neruda

    Thanks Yaniel,

you'd be surprised what I had to go through to find a decent post. I had issues with posts slipping no matter what i did, i first tried a bontrager rxl carbon post, no dice, in fact the slipping pretty much chewed off all the clearcoat from the post, i tried an american classic ti post, same deal, i used liquid torque on the carbon post and no help... i found this post (miche supertype) at some hipsterish sorta shop selling fixed gear bikes (predominantly) in brooklyn. it's on the heavy side @ a bit over 260 grams but not a single issue since i installed it.

i also tried a thomson post which was very harsh on my posterior. this, also being alloy is a bit more forgiving.

If I don't have any patients in the day plus the weather is warm and dry, I usually ride my Colnago for a few blocks and then sit down to enjoy a nice cup of coffee to recuperate. The other day I had a tight race with a Mongoose 26" ....boy that hurted. Had to call in my message theoropist that evening.

every now and then Colnago makes a really nice bike that doesn't have a color combination that makes me puke. Beautiful bike.

Just recently got into to cycling again (for real this time though) and I've been riding a hybrid, but recently decided to fix up an old road bike my father-in-law bought me on the cheap a few years ago. As far as I can tell its a 1979 Motobecane Mirage. Nothing fancy, but its my first road bike and I love the feel of it.

This is also the first time I have worked on a bike more than adjusting the seatpost height. I did an overhaul on this one, and loved it. I took everything off except the BB and cleaned up all the rust. Overhauled the hubs. Regreased the headset bearings. Gave it new bar tape and all new cables and housing and tuned up the shifting.

I have new tires and pads for it, but I'm waiting for my new wheels to come in before I put them on.

My first road bike. Picked it up two days ago. I was a 260+ lb clyde 3 months ago. I bought a TREK 7300 Hybrid and rode it for 950 miles and I have shed 30 lbs so far. I started doing longer rides. 30 miles is normal ride now. 40 on somedays and I even did my first half century a couple of weeks ago. Love the long distance calorie burning rides! Knew I would have to upgrade to a road bike and after much research and test rides I purchased this little beauty.

I am still a 230 lb clyde and after the first 30 mile ride on the 2.3 I experienced numbness in an area I had never experienced numbness before!

The stock saddle had to go! I got a fitting today and replaced the stem with a longer and slightly more upright one. Also replaced the saddle with an inexpensive Planet Bike a.r.s. gel. My 7300 had a small Serfas cruiser gel and I never had this problem with it so I decided to go big and comfy this time around. Once I loose another 45 lbs or so I will reevaluate the saddle.

    I love this bike!

Thanks! It's a lot more work taking it off than it is putting it on! I absolutely fell in love with cycling this summer. I don't ever see myself not doing this. And I will never be fat again.
