Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks.
The only problem is that all of the excuses I used to use about my bike being too heavy just don't fly anymore. Sucks ... in a good way of course.

I just went to the Six/13 frame. I have an Optimo with Dura Ace I got last year and picked up a Six/13 frame and moved everything off the Optimo (R3000) to the new frame.

This is the most outstanding frame I have ever ridden. And I work in a bike shop and have ridden Madones, Looks, Serottas, you name it.

Great bike Roadwarrier!!

Having just built it two weeks ago and living in the tundra up here, I hadn't had the opportunity to take it out until yesterday. We managed 40 deg and I took her out on her maiden voyage for an hour.

I LOVE THIS BIKE. It's stiff, yet rides very smoothly. It's way lighter than my last bike. I'm off my peak condition from three month ago, yet I was able to keep the same pace as I could on my old bike. I just know I'm gonna fly next spring/summer!

Yup ...

Well after using a hybrids for two years, a Giant Cypress DX for commuting and a Specialized Sirrus for fun and a little more speed, I found an used road bike in my present small bicycling budget. I got a 2000 Raleigh R500. They don't make that model number any more. Perhaps not the snazziest ride out there, but I must say I have enjoyed my three short rides around town on my first road bike.

I adjusted the derailers. They may need a little more adjustment. It also has a lady's saddle on it. I'll probably change out the saddle and put a cycle computer on it to really make it mine.

When I got my Optimo (CAAD7) last winter, I was coming off a CAAD4 frame (that I still have that I use in bad weather and on my Fluid2) and it was as if there was no bike there it was so light. You will love the way this feels, especially on longer rides...Enjoy!!!

Dammit! I went to my LBS to have them take a look at my 1 week old Trek 7200FX and they just happen to have a 52 cm Trek 1000 just laying around

They let me return my 7200FX and pay the difference. How cool was that?! I wish they had the white/orange but they didn't have to twist my arm to take this one away!

With a bike like that you shouldn't care what anyone thinks.

Beautiful Colnago C40hp
Man I dig that paintjob.
What's up with the pictures behind the steed?
Pink Floyd? What about the crazy otherone behind?
They really go with your ride.

Cheers
