Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

^Hot.

Bike looks much better with the race wheels though (posted in the Racing forum), but that's to be expected.

Any idea how much it weighs with the race wheels?

when i switch over the crankset, brakes and go to a lighter chain it should come in right at 15lbs or just a hair under. I think it's just a hair over 16 right now and the rear is a PT wheel...it's for crits, that's pretty much all I race.

This isn't the actual pic, since I'm at work, but it's the exact same bike (but with Shimano Ultegra pedals)

Just picked up this Colnago Active a few days ago off of CL. Dang, have not been able to test ride, because of Chicago's weather. But, it looks marvelous and almost looks like it's moving!

And, the Colnago is made in Italy.

2011 Felt Z85, totally stock for now (105, FSA crank, Mavic CXP22s). Picked it up last Tuesday, got a quick fit and will be dialing it in as the weather permits me to ride.

(Flip it? Eventually. I'm recovering from a shoulder injury and my range of motion isn't all the way back yet. And yeah, the dork disk will go shortly.)

^That stem would give you a pretty intense drop if you flipped it.

It's an adjustable stem. It can go + or - 5, 10, or 15º. It's at +15 to start with.

i'm gonna have to agree w/ the others, black and red bartape on a bike that has mostly white with pastel blue and green accents?

obviously the color of bartape is purely aesthetic, so calling someone a snob for not wanting to ugly up a bike, a very pretty classic bike at that... that's just wrong.

my vote goes for white... and riding around with grey bartape is an honorable thing, something that should be done with head held high, it shows the thing was put to use, lots of use. as dirty as it may be, it's still a beautiful thing.

Here is the bike I just finished up a couple of days ago. I'll get some better pictures once the weather changes.

About 8 weeks ago I crashed and snaped the seat stay on my Marin Stelvio. My LBS went to bat with Marin and they were not too generous with their crash replacement offer. He also approached Specialized Canada and they were fantastic. Gave me a great deal on a 2010 Roubaix Pro frame set. I was origial going to go Dura Ace ..... the LBS talked me into Ultegra....Only problem is the snow on the ground and I won't ride outdoors in this weather....so the bike is going on the trainer. Good thing March isn't too far away.

It was easy I the price difference was enough to put towards the next bike. I would really like Di2 the technology is fasinating. I ride 60km 4 days a week and if the wife is busy I might seek in 5. I didnt plan on buying a new bike until next year ..... some loose gravel took care of that. The LBS has a S-Works Di2 I could have purchased for another 2k on top of what I spent......as it was I went 2k over budget.....he know how I ride and I really am thinking about trying campy next.
